My first exposure to blogging, specifically to fashion blogging was around ’09, when I was spending extensive hours scouring the inner-webs, which little did I know would become a lifestyle & to an extent a source of income.
I was deeply enthralled with the five ways I could style cow-print, calf length boots & discovering fashion designers who in present days have a cult like following. Back when Instagram was purely about organic content & not fucking everyone over with algorithms, I was discovering bloggers & witnessing them finding their style & building a community of dedicated, like-minded individuals.
I wanted in.
After many months of inner turmoil, I asked a friend & we shot my first piece of content. What led was numerous shoots, questionable outfits & genuine interest to build an online community.
However, my enthusiasm was slowly shutting down & I was questioning my interest in blogging. My love for fashion remains but my love for fashion blogging was dying. I found the term ‘blogger’ over saturated & Instagram pages indistinguishable.
I took upon the archives of the web & searched for #inspo from authors, designers, influencers, hair stylists & YouTube personalities to really weed out the direction I wanted my blog to go & more importantly who my work will reach.
I hope my work inspires & motivates readers to not only try thigh high boots but goes beyond that.
Here’s to change. Its gross.
