The new normal

DISCLAIMER: THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN IN FEBRUARY, BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN

Does anyone else remember the time where jeans would fit & your 2020 planner was in use?

…same.

What felt like a start to a seemingly great year, soon spiralled into a catastrophic rabbit hole. Some say this time in iso is a great way to work on yourself, create healthier habits, pursue side hustles, get creative, eat healthy, read more or develop the sudden urge to bake banana bread. However, for many it’s a time to shed the world we thought was life to live in a new world, where productivity is measured by the man made concept of time & productivity.

A time where not only people but businesses are looking to re-invent themselves, adapt to current life & find a connection in a contactless world; it is an odd time to be living in. The weirdness is brining out multitudes of hobbies, businesses, blog posts, banana bread & an overall boon to the environment.

I’ve previously spoken about change on the blog & how much is filled with uncertainty, but the only difference in this change is that everyone if feeling the shift.

The major shift in work wear was evident, as more people were shifted into the corners of their homes, crisp white shirts are replaced with over size tie dye graphic t – shirts & comfy sweat pants. As the fashion world took a major loss & luxury brands were shutting down brick & mortar, a spike in lounge & active wear was unprecedented. Natural straightened hair is being tucked under silk scarves & decorated in oversized clips & your favourite pair of shoes is replaced with fluffy slippers.

Cheers to Friday & my fourth cup of tea.
