Black Blazer – Yawn?

Vintage shopping is a little like starting a new book, at first you’re browsing page by page looking for that one blazer that will change your life, then its hits you like a plot twist you won’t expecting. It was my first time shopping at a vintage online store & I was subjected to menswear-inspired silhouettes best styled with tailored blazers mixed with a feminine skirt or the “I left my shirt at home” look.

The menswear-inspired silhouettes are a further proof that you can dress up an understated staple, like a button-down, by pairing it with a polka dot blazer or bold heels. If there is anything to learn from And just like that… behind the scenes still is that statement mixed with basics is still in style & that there is no SATC without Samantha.

Second-hand/vintage shopping is on a steady rise, more shoppers are looking for avenues to buy cool, 90’s inspired outfits all while not breaking the bank & consciously taking the sustainable route. Not only will you find, Princess Di inspired polo shirts, oversize blazers, Bermuda shorts & Henley shirts but your not-so-typical 40’s inspired floral dress or soon-to-be making a comeback, platforms.

The internet makes us believe we need to shop more & more to stay on top of trends, creating a constant send of need & ultimate dissatisfaction. Vintage not only is a testament of quality over quantity by most importantly celebrates a love for nostalgia & always-in-style clothing. The blazer, the wide-leg pant & ‘that’ shirt are all the building blocks to creating a never ending wardrobe of stylish outfits. Buy a few statement pieces & there you have a sustainable yet realistic all year round wardrobe.
