I am well aware June is in full swing, but let’s take it back to May. The month of May went by what felt like a flash. Winter is well and truly upon us and May was the last bit of warm weather experienced, where a jacket wasn’t required. A trip to the farmers market, picking up the perfect Poppies, celebrating mother’s day, getting over my reading slump and spending cozy evenings at home was the perfect tie to the end of the month.

If you’re anything like me and are skincare obsessed, you have probably seen online the benefits of Jujube tea. The benefits for your skin and overall health are tremendous, I highly recommend you do a deep dive on TikTok and see the benefits for yourself. Every Sunday, I brew a fresh batch in my slow cooker / rice cooker, with ginger, cinnamon sticks, goji berries and sliced apple. I make around two liters and have a cup every morning.

Thank you to @kyyahabdul for being the inspiration behind the most unique idea for coasters. In the mornings, I often sit on my couch with either warm water or coffee. I place my mug directly on the couch end, which is not the best idea when you have a fabric, cream coloured couch. The marble slab on the couch ends is chic and ever so practical.

Since returning from holidays, I have hit a reading slump. I feel this happens every so often. I read 2 – 4 books a month, then not read for the next 3 months. While traveling I picked up a number of books, specifically Indian authors, because they were so easily available. Here’s whats on the shelf:

I recently finished Six Days In Bombay. I am a huge of Alka Joshi, The Henna Artist series was impeccably written. Six Days in Bombay characters are well rounded, every character was well versed out. The first few chapters felt slow, but once the protagonist set sail I was hooked.
I’m currently reading The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters by Balli Kaur Jaswal. This has been on my to-read list for a while now. I’m about a hundred pages in and thoroughly enjoying the read. The scaling Delhi heat is the perfect read while Sydney is experiencing a cold front.

When I was overseas earlier this year, the heat and humidity combined was not long hair friendly. Having travelled to Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Singapore, I had to get creative with my hair styles. My absolute go to was a low slick back bun with an oversize scrunchie. Accessories like such turn a simple blue jeans and t-shirt into a thought out look.

Speaking of looks, by the time 2025 ends I will have attended five weddings. This only equates to have countless outfits on the go and trying to get creative with what I already own. One of my top favourite outfits this year is this brown saree for Ekaya. I bought this pre-pleated and with the blouse stitched as well. The fabric flows beautifully and sits on the body in the right places. I kept my makeup minimum as well as accessories. Adding a long streak of sindoor was the best addition.

I hope you had a wonderful May and wishing you an even better June. Stay Warm!
What’s on the June to-do list:
Buy a pair of boots and/or appropriate winter shoes
Trying Rhode for the first, will report back next month
The goal is to add 3 more books to the book shelf.
Until next time.
